[PIPython] trovare fonts disponibili

Salve a tutti.
Qualcuno sa dirmi come fare a reperire il path dei fonts TTF in windows?

leggendo nei gruppi, ho visto che per i sistemi NT il path nel registro 
di sistema è:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

mentre per i sistemi 9x/ME è:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Fonts

Ora, leggere nel registro di sistema, in python, non è un problema. Il 
problema è avere uno standard per tutti i sistemi operativi.
Qualcuno ha qualche idea???
