Title: Engineering Fashion Technology and Human Organs: Interdisciplinary making for better wellbeing
Duration: 60 (includes Q&A)
Q&A Session: 15
Language: en
Type: Talk
Abstract: I would like to share my knowledge and experiences in both wearable fashion technology and in tissue engineering with stem cells which is my profession (what it is, what we can do with it, why it is relevant, and how I implement python to achieve goals). The aim of my talk is to make people aware that you can have multiple interests and it is highly encouraged for a fulfilling lifestyle and improved mental health wellbeing. In adults, having work that you're passionate about can overtake your whole life easily ignoring other needs. We are often so busy that we do not pay attention to our health and self-care. I would like to encourage listeners of all ages to use the programming language that they love, Python, to try new things and discuss ways to achieve a good work-life balance. My talk will also hopefully encourage young girls to be themselves (loving fashion and beauty) while pursuing a STEM career or education. I set myself in this instance as a role model to show that people generally are multidirectional, and cross-disciplinary interest is easy to get into, unique, beneficial and sought after.
