Title: Python on Web Browsers
Duration: 60 (includes Q&A)
Q&A Session: 15
Language: en
Type: Talk

Abstract: For a very long time, pythonistas have wanted to run python on the web browser and not be forced to write Javascript. Finally, today there are credible alternatives to let you do just that.

This talk focuses on two of them: Brython and Transcrypt, discusses the pros and cons of each, the rationale for using one of them over the other and instead of Javascript, the tooling requirements, and the challenges to be faced when walking down this path.

Finally, some interesting toy projects are presented to whet the audience's appetite.

Requirements: basic python knowledge. Basic Javascript knowledge helps but is not required.

A first version of this talk was presented at PyCon Argentina with good reception and comments.
