Abstract: According to Gartner AWS is the leader in infrastructure as a service (Iaas). In 2017 glomex (the company I worked for at the time) won the Gartner award "Best Data Management and Infrastructure". Key to our success have been the automation tools we built using Python to successfully run >100 deployments per day to AWS. In time for PyCon Otto in 2017 we open sourced the tools. In 2017 a lot of work went into the tools to make them more stable and usable for a broader audience.

Howto use **fink** deployment tools to orchestrate and manage classic and serverless infrastructures on AWS.

In the talk I will cover the following areas:
* Some context on how to fully automate deployments to AWS and why we had to build our own tools
* Python to the rescue
* AWS Python SDKs and other open-source building blocks
* how to open-source a highly opinionated tool and make it useful for others
