Abstract: Once upon a time a wonderful book showed up: “Pragmatic Programmer”.
It was a group of best practices and interesting suggestions for every software engineer: a must read! I want to put my 50 cents on this: we will talk about the meaning of being “pragmatic” related to a developer and of having a simple mindset.
Pragmatism starts from business needs (the triple constraint) and it is something that should pervade the software engineer: from the technical point of view to the personal one (communication skills, behavior, teaming). Every company should select its method of proceeding (Agile?) but the most important thing is the mindset rather than the method itself. Delivering a product or a service should always be the target. Some simple software principles can help to achieve the scope and Python is a charming technology which helps the software development.
