Abstract: Test fixtures are probably the most powerful feature provided by pytest and one of the main reasons why one would use the framework. Docs say they are “explicit, modular and scalable” but how far can we push the boundaries?

During the talk we’ll see how to get creative with fixtures, how to get the most out of other features like marks and plugins and ultimately how we delivered (with a little help from Tox and Docker) a comprehensive test suite for a massive open source Python project consisting of more than one hundred different packages.
